TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY TO

THE SINGLETON ART PRIZE: AN AQUISITIVE PAINTING AND DRAWING SHOW

    1. Artists may enter a maximum of two paintings per section.

    2. If submitting two works in any section, the artist must prioritise them in the “Hanging Preference” column on the entry form. If entry numbers exceed hanging capacity the organisers will exclude second priority works in the most numerous sections until hanging capacity is reached.

    3. No individual exhibit may be entered in more than one section.

    4. Artwork must be no older than two years and must be the work of the submitting artist.

    5. All paintings entered are for sale. The Rotary Club of Singleton on Hunter will retain 30% of the sale price.

    6. Each entry must be suitably framed, with secure cord or wire attached. Frames or hanging devices requiring repair work will be rejected.

    7. The maximum size of all artworks (except those entered in the Miniature section), including the frame is 1350 mm x 1050 mm and must not exceed 6kg in weight.

    8. Miniature section, maximum size is 100 cm² of artwork area (eg 10cm x 10cm) and the frame a maximum of 30 cm x 30 cm.

    9. Entries in the Local section must be by artists residing in the Singleton Local Government Area.

    10. Works with three dimensional embellishments will not be accepted except in section C-Contemporary.

    11. Work that is ceramic, pottery, sculpture, and copies of original work, will not be accepted.

    12. Triptych and diptych painting configurations and prints & photographs will not be accepted.

    13. The artist warrants that the work is their original work and does not infringe the copyright, moral rights or other rights of any third party. Artworks suspected to be reproductions of another work may be disqualified from judging.

    14. The Artist grants the right to reproduce their artwork and biographical material, by any means, in any media, for promotional purposes of the Singleton Art Prize. The Artist will be properly acknowledged in such promotional material.

    15. All artworks entered are eligible for the Acquisitive Prize and therefore potentially acquisitive.

    16. Artists wishing to submit works in the Contemporary Section C should remember that the Singleton Art Prize is a Painting and Drawing event. In this section, artists may use any medium of their choice and have three dimensional embellishments, but the works must otherwise fit the measurements specified in the eligibility criteria and must not constitute a safety hazard to handlers and viewers.

    17. Age of eligibility for Youth sections is the artist’s age as at 25th July 2025.

    1. Incorrect/non-compliant entries will not be exhibited, and entry fees will NOT be refunded.

    2. Incorrectly completed or incomplete entry forms may not be followed up and may lead to disqualification.

    3. Payment must be received with or prior to submission of entry form.

    4. The entry fee is non-refundable and contributes to administration and curation of the exhibition.

    5. Closing date for receipt of entry forms is Monday 16th June 2025. Late entry forms will NOT be accepted.

    6. All entry forms require an email address.

    1. All works must be dry on delivery.

    2. A completed information label must be fixed to the back of the work- right-hand bottom corner, download here.

    3. The artist’s name and address must be clearly marked on the outside wrapping for return post/transport.

    4. Hand delivered & couriered paintings are to be delivered to the Singleton Civic Centre between 9am & 3pm (up to 6pm with prior arrangement) on Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd July 2025.

    5. Posted artwork entries must be addressed to: Singleton Art Prize PO BOX 348 SINGLETON NSW 2330 and arrive no later than Tuesday morning 22nd July 2025 and cost of return post pre-paid or included with work.

    6. All transport and insurance costs are to be met by the artist. Late arrivals will not be hung.

    7. Collection of sold and unsold works from Civic Centre will occur between 9.00 am and 4.00 pm Wednesday 30th July 2025. No exceptions can be made as we have no ability to store uncollected work.
      The committee cannot guarantee the return of any works not collected by 4.00 pm Wednesday 30th July 2025 including those belonging to residents of Singleton LGA.

    8. If artists do not collect their own works, they are required to provide authorisation for their delegate to do so with their entry form.

    9. It is the artist’s responsibility to enclose a return consignment note with the artwork, when work is being returned by commercial couriers, such as TNT, Star Track, Aramex, DHL, etc. Please advise your courier that these art works are to be collected on Wednesday 30th July 2025.

    10. Sydney & Central Coast Artists- If you wish to use our courier, see below.

    1. The committee reserves the right to hang works at their discretion.

    2. Paintings moved or relocated by the public or artists may be disqualified.

    3. The greatest possible care will be taken, but no liability will be accepted for damage or loss during the Art Prize and while in the care or transport of the organisers.

    1. The judge’s decision will be final. The judge may decide not to award a prize in any section.

    2. One work will be acquired for the Singleton Art Collection, so all prize winners are potentially acquisitive.

  • The Singleton Art Prize organisers have again engaged local Singleton company, Taxico Logistics, to provide art courier services from Sydney and the Central Coast.

    Pick-up and Return of Artwork

    The following drop off and pick up locations are available with Taxico this year:

    ·         Visual Art at Arncliffe, telephone Jocelyn Rayner 9567 2355.

    These businesses have all very kindly offered to be a depot where entries for the Singleton Art Prize can be delivered prior to the show and collected when works are returned after the show.

    Works must be at the pickup points by close of business Monday 21st July 2025.

    The Taxico pickup date will be AM Tuesday 22nd  July and the return date Friday 1st August 2025.

    Courier Fees and Payment

    The courier fee is $80 for up to three works of art and a further $30 per painting for each additional painting.

    The fee structure and method of payment must be paid up front with the entry form and will cover collection from the depots listed above, delivery to Singleton and return delivery to the same pick-up depot. There is no surcharge for large paintings.

    Payments must be made prior to the pickup date by either credit card (click link) OR direct deposit.

    Cheques/Money Order will not be accepted.

    Bookings

    To book your works with the courier service, please complete the relevant sections of the entry form, or (after entry form submitted) email the committee at artprize9670@gmail.com, please advise your full name, the number of works, and the pickup point.

    The closing date for receipt of entry forms is Monday 16th June 2025. Couriered works enclosing an entry form (not previously submitted by the closing date) will not be accepted. Entry forms must be received by the above date.
